Overview:
At Park-Innovation.com, I was entrusted with the responsibility of architecting and implementing the entire AWS infrastructure to support the website, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.
Achievements:
- Design & Architecture: Created a robust AWS infrastructure design that catered to the traffic needs of Park-Innovation.com, factoring in redundancy, failover mechanisms, and region-specific considerations.
- Deployment: Set up and managed essential AWS services such as Amazon EC2 (for hosting the website), RDS (for database needs), and S3 (for storage and backup purposes).
- Load Balancing & Auto Scaling: Implemented Elastic Load Balancing to distribute incoming traffic and set up Auto Scaling to automatically adjust resources based on demand, ensuring the website remained responsive during traffic spikes.
- Security & Compliance: Ensured that all data was encrypted both in transit and at rest. Set up AWS WAF (Web Application Firewall) and Shield for protection against web exploits. Managed IAM roles and permissions to provide the least privilege access.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery: Configured automated backups using Amazon RDS and S3, and laid out a disaster recovery plan ensuring swift restoration in any unforeseen circumstances.
- Monitoring & Alerts: Used Amazon CloudWatch to monitor the environment, setting up alerts for any anomalies or potential infrastructure issues.
